“Hot Training Season” in Emirates is Going on!
Training of VD Gulf executive managers held within the CU School of Management “Profi” is being carried on in Sharjah (UAE). This year the first training module of the VD Gulf management team development program was conducted on March 22-23.
The program was launched in 2016 and includes three training modules: leadership minimum, management skills development and team couching.
The new training season started on March 22 with the training on motivation. It was conducted by Svetlana Samoletova, deputy director of Corporate Education Department. The participants defined what made people successful, what could inspire them to go to work every morning.
On March 23 the training went on with the seminar on project management. It was conducted by Galina Isaykina, director of Corporate Education Department. The task on building a tower blindfolded with the hands tied was the highlight of the seminar. It was meant to work on skills of getting a result in operational process when the resources were limited. Besides, the participants got familiar with the golden management triangle (time-finance-quality), learnt how to make a project portfolio, how to manage risks and stakeholders.
The program ended up with the training on emotional intellect conducted by Svetlana Samoletova. It was meant to raise the level of emotional consciousness to allow more rational decisions and greater influence on other people, to be able to ‘hear’ people’s emotional needs and barriers, to manage relationships.
Here’s what the participants shared:
Sergey Stolnikov, manager, technical procurement:
– Galina was at her best, as usual! Extensive fundamental data, exciting practical tasks – I got a chance to manage Tegene Kirubel and Mikhail Khoroshaev when building a tower! I also enjoyed Svetlana’s training – was captivated by the types of employees, ways to motivate them, started analyzing who is who in my department; will probably try to run such assessment with the test. It’s an interesting subject. It’s worth exploring more!
Andrey Girin, lawyer:
– It was interesting and practical! The results were unexpected – You think one way, but the tests show it differently – it makes you think it over in terms of priorities, motivates you on extra research.
Dmitry Neschetny, head of IT department:
– I enjoyed every moment of it! Building a tower was not only an exciting game, it proved my vision “If you want to do something well, do it yourself”. It was useful to learn about different ways to motivate different types of employees, to use emotions.
Victor Gabovsky, head of operations arrangement group:
– I am well impressed. Professional trainers, good program, easy to understand. It was useful to interact with other managers. I came out with consolidated knowledge, confident in work results which were partly based on this knowledge.
Next training module will gather the program participants in autumn this year. There they will improve negotiation skills and learn efficient business communications.
