Team work is the formula for success

Volga-Dnepr Corporate University has launched the CEOs’ training program. The first seminar held in Moscow on April 4-5 gathered more than twenty Volga-Dnepr senior executives from different offices across the world. The participants commented that “live” training format meant to meet real-life business needs taught them to approach any challenge more carefully and find as many solutions as possible.

Top managers shared their lessons learnt

The program started with the basic lessons learnt by the senior executives Alexander Bashkov, general director “Atran”, Tatiana Arslanova, vice president on strategic management, and Valery Gabriel, vice president on charter development. The top managers shared their personal lessons and pointed out that failures should always be appreciated as they were part and parcel of success.

“General director should know the company inside and out”

One of the important parts of the seminar was Alexey Isaykin’s speech. The president focused on the CEO’s role: values, the code of laws, processes, products, labour specialization and cooperation, and the company strategies. He emphasized that it was impossible to benefit customers without on-going learning.

The training was based on case studies. The teams worked on basic management functions, such as management of values, management of the organization, strategic management, etc. The results of the team work and their decisions were later assessed by the experts. The game “What? Where? When?” format, entertaining tasks meant to develop managerial skills made the seminar interesting, vibrant and by all accounts efficient.

Doing case studies with pleasure

– It’s the first time the senior executive officers together with the senior financial officers discussed different specific tasks, – shared Ildar Ilyasov, managing director AMTES GmbH. – This is exactly what managing directors need, as to make decisions they have to be involved in different functions – HR, marketing, operations, etc. I wish we would have more of such training! I’m sure it’s a leap forward for Volga-Dnepr Group and Corporate University.

At the end of the two-day training the president awarded two participants with business books: Dmitry Grishin, general director CLA, for the most vivid manifestation of such managerial competencies as partnership and organizational efficiency; and Pavel Popov, financial deputy director, for leadership.

The solemn moment!

– I wish all of you patience and confidence in our future success! – said Alexey Isaykin.

In addition, three seminar participants who showed best results in case studies will be awarded PM Expert training.

The next CEO’s training seminar will be held in autumn this year. The program is promising. It will focus on other management functions, such as HR management, health management, project management, etc. The participants will also work on such skills as change management, focus on the result and public speaking.
