Entertaining Management for Kids and Adults: Big Transportation
Kids arranged virtual yet successful transportation of 120 tons of oil equipment from Oslo to Manila! This was the final task of another training session of the CU project “Entertaining management for kids and adults” held in Ulyanovsk. The project started in April 2016. This time the entertaining quest was conducted by VDA senior managers. Two teams of kids were looking for “stations” in the company office and doing the tasks.
This final session was marked by the presence of kids’ parents who work in Volga-Dnepr, by the chance to do the route together with their children and see the company by their eyes. Julia Tolmacheva, expert-analyst, VDM, shares her impressions:
“The project “Entertaining management for kids and adults” is a wonderful way to get the children familiar with the company main processes, to show them the value of each department, each employee; for them to see how work becomes value, how much responsibility the company executives have, how important it is to be a professional and to be able to work in a team. After these sessions my son, Maxim Ageev, aged 9, is proud of his parents working in such a big company. He wants to be pilot. He likes having things with the company logo and enjoys sweet prizes! My daughter, Arina Ageeva, aged 11, learned one of the executive’s rules during this final session – to be able to set tasks and distribute them between employees. She even managed to apply this rule at school: she distributed the books from the summer reading list between her classmates for them to share what they have read with other children in class. This way she thinks the task will be managed in time and with less effort. Hopefully, the project will continue next year!”
The project started in March 2016 with the beautiful purpose to integrate the worlds of kids and adults, to show children Volga-Dnepr at work, to help find their calling and identify their future profession. 12 training sessions were arranged by the CU teachers and the Group experts in a year. The project participants got familiar with all the company key professions – pilots, engineers, dispatchers, economists, doctors, HR and safety managers.
The project unique character drew attention of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) within the realization of the international initiative “Next Generation of Aviation Professionals”. Use the link to read the article about our project in the ICAO bulletin.
So, the conclusions are drawn, the kids enjoy their summer holidays, the baton is passed to the Moscow’s office. And the flight continues!
