Fostering personnel pool!
A training program for Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ operational management reserve has started in Ulyanovsk. Classes are conducted within one of the Corporate University Schools – the Manager school “Pro”. The program opening session was devoted to entry testing on all management functions. The test results showed that despite their professional experience there was still something for the participants to learn!
The first seminar was held on August 18 and focused on strategic management. Lubov Ponomareva, deputy director of VDM strategic management department, told the participants about the company strategy and values. She also showed them how to make strategic management decisions.
Another seminar was devoted to leadership and was conducted by Eugene Patrikhalka, head of corporate education development department, on August 31. At the end of the training day the participants outlined the steps to take to progress in developing qualities of a leader.
On September 5 Alexey Zimin, business development director, VDM, taught the participants to develop skills on strategic vision.
Here’s what they share:
Julia Mennibaeva, reporting specialist, VDA:
– It was interesting to learn strategic competencies the 3-d level employee should possess. The teacher presented simple tools to analyze and assess initiated changes. There was also some theory on risk identification and management. The theory was followed up by practical exercise for us to be ready to implement the gained knowledge at our work places.
George Shklyanik, head of logistics department, VDA:
– I enjoyed it! Alexey is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and is able to share the knowledge. It was worth revising some tools on SWAT analysis and risk assessment (probability and consequences).
Denis Seleznev, head of financial accounting department, VDA:
– New instruments on change initiation and risk management were of great value for me. I will take them to work.
Oksana Meronen, quality manager, VDA:
– I liked face-to-face communication and positive mindset of our group. The tools on strategic vision are really valuable for me. Looking forward to the next training session where I will be able to develop these competences.
This is just the beginning! In September the reservists will go for more – organization management and modeling, and personnel motivation.
