Aircraft can smile, too!

IMG_3821“Impressed!”, “Delighted!”, – this is what the company newcomers said after the tour to Boeing-747 aircraft at Sheremetyevo airport. The event was conducted on May 17 within one of the Corporate University schools – the school for newcomers.

The participants had a chance to see the aircraft loading procedure. “That was as if the aircraft was smiling”, most of them said. They also climbed on board of one the ABC’s “iron beauty” where they were shown round the cargo compartment and the flight deck.

The ABC tour guides Sergey Suhko, specialist of the Ground Support department, and Jury Vostokov, the leading specialist on aircraft ground handling, described in detail the aircraft structure, loading/offloading procedures, and many other interesting things.

This is what the participants shared:

– It was great! It’s very important to understand operations, to have a picture of how the company works, – said Anna Savina, financial analyst, VDM.

– Every employee of the company is of direct relevance to the aircraft, even if it’s not in the immediate vicinity, – added Taisa Ponomareva, financial document specialist, ABC.

Our colleagues were impressed by the size of the cargo compartment

– I’m grateful to Corporate University! I was really impressed with the Boeing tour, – shared Elena Nikolaeva, international financial standards specialist, ABC. – It was so interesting to climb on board of our Boeing, to see it “smile”, and as a bonus to observe our two other aircraft landing and parking.

– It was great to see the company operations from the inside, – said Tatiana Umurzakova, financial analyst, ABC. – I work with numbers, know each aircraft type, their expenditure. So, I was excited to see them “live”. I was really impressed by offloading procedure. We saw the aircraft floor lined with wheels rotating in different directions to move pallets. It is automatically controlled and gives an impression of being alive. It’s wonderful how this huge iron vehicle is able to lift off and carry tones of cargo.

– Aircraft have always been something special for me, – shared Michael Stepanov, the leading specialist on strategic management, VDM. – I always want to come near and take a picture. But passengers are not allowed to stay on the apron long. It’s different when you’re wearing a magic light-green vest – you are no longer marched out of the apron, instead you got provided with lots of information. It’s an incredible feeling to sit behind the control column, to imagine the aircraft taking off at Sheremetyevo and you are not a passenger, and in the end to see this magic Boeing smile. This is when you realize what a dream job is, as even aircraft are smiling at you!

All the participants would like to tour other aircraft types, especially An-124-100 “Ruslan”!
