Approaching challenges creatively!

Two-day session of the CU School on Sales and Marketing was conducted in Moscow on September 29-30. The seminar venue gathered sales and marketing executive officers from the company global offices, customer service specialists and sales managers.

The first day was devoted to “Industry Specialization – Aircraft Manufacturing and Aerospace”. The opening speech made by Tatiana Arslanova, vice president on strategic management, was focused on the role of aerospace industry in Volga-Dnepr business. Other reports were done by the speakers representing charter and regular businesses who are in charge of aerospace cargo transportation.

Working in groups the participants from different VD offices across the world worked out further steps on aerospace plan implementation.
The presentation of the Volga-Dnepr design bureau was the highlight of the seminar. They demonstrated recently developed loading facilities which would add to the uniqueness of our fleet.

– We shared ideas, opinions on how to realize our main competitive advantage – our unique fleet – for the benefit of our customers, – said Rodion Nelidov, head of air transportation management department, VDA. – The new loading facilities presented by the design bureau are really promising. The key point now is implementation!

20160929_182428The next seminar day, September 30th was held with the focus on Cooperation and Organizational Efficiency. Robert Van de Weg, senior vice president on sales and marketing, spoke about the united sales center as the tool for creating and enhancing the internal synergy between charter and regular businesses. The details of cooperation on the part of charter business were covered by Andrey Gulyayanovsky, head of transportation service development department, VDA; on the part of regular business – by Stanislav Belov, sales director in the regions of Middle East, India, Africa, AFL.

– The second day of the seminar was truly remarkable for it focused on organizational changes which are in store for the company (in particular, the united sales center) to meet the changes on the air transportation market, – shared Vassily Zhukov, global director on power and heavy engineering. – Together with our overseas colleagues we have a chance to discuss challenges the company is facing now and the ways to work on them. Such networking is what values most as it contributes much to better interaction within the company groups and more creativity to approach the challenges.
