Young Aviators in “Volga-Dnepr”

006It has become a good tradition in our company to hold aviation Olympics for children from Moscow school №830 which speciality is ab-initio flight training. Another meeting with future pilots was held on March 31.

The school studying program combines general academic subjects with a number of aviation disciplines, regular flights and even parachute jumps. The graduates usually leave school with quite good flight record and a strong wish to work in aviation. So, meetings with our pilots motivate them, teach them how to get better results, enter the flight school and become professional in aviation environment.

Sixteen senior high school children were at ease answering questions on aircraft structure, radio exchange, ground communication facilities, etc. The jury was represented by our colleagues: Roman Klyachko, pilot-instructor B-747; Bakhtiyar Astanov, 004flight operations organization adviser; Alexander Bochkarev, co-pilot B-747-400; Eleonora Surina, director of aviation accident prevention department.

It’s a unique chance for future aviators to learn from real pilots, and for our company it’s an opportunity to get to know future flight school cadets and plan their recruitment.

The two-hour testing resulted in revealing three winners. All the participants were given diplomas, and the winners were awarded with pre-paid extra flight time.
